The UNM Foundation of the Torrent Group has extended full financial support for the publication of the unpublished Diaries (1938–1942) of Mahadevbhai Desai, a close associate and chronicler of Mahatma Gandhi.

The Foundation has also provided partial financial support for the Letters to Gandhi project, which seeks to curate, edit, annotate, and publish a comprehensive collection of letters written to Mahatma Gandhi, many of which remain unpublished and provide valuable insights into India’s social, political, and cultural history.

Sabarmati Ashram Preservation and Memorial Trust (SAPMT), Ahmedabad places on record its deep appreciation for the UNM Foundation’s commitment to preserving and disseminating India’s documentary heritage. Their generous support of ₹75 lakhs plays a vital role in enabling the systematic archival preservation, scholarly editing, and publication of historically significant materials associated with Mahatma Gandhi and his contemporaries.

The CSR Foundation of a leading company, whose name is withheld at its request, has generously committed ₹2.50 crore over five years to support three major scholarly and archival publication projects undertaken by the Sabarmati Ashram Preservation and Memorial Trust (SAPMT), Ahmedabad, relating to the life, work and times of Mahatma Gandhi.

These projects are:

1. Letters to Gandhi: Collecting, curating, editing, annotating and publishing letters written to Mahatma Gandhi, many of which remain unpublished and offer invaluable insights into India’s social, political and cultural history.

2. Mahadevbhai Desai’s Diaries: Publishing the remaining unpublished volumes, together with related publications, including translations and selected writings drawn from the diaries.

3. Gandhijino Akshardeh: Completing the remaining 18 Gujarati volumes (Volumes 83–100) of the Collected Works of Mahatma Gandhi (CWMG).
