  • Product Description :

Cotton Khadi in Indian Economy A lot has been written about Khadi which generally means Cotton Khadi only. During the last seven decades or so, eminent writers and thinkers including Mahatma Gandhi who was responsible for giving khadi a new form and concept, have written on this subject. Their writings as well as the literature published by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission cover many aspects of Cotton Khadi Industry. But there was no book which dealt in a comprehensive and systematic manner with all the aspects of Cotton Khadi. I am glad that this book written by Shri Yovesh Chandra Sharma, who has been closely associated with khadi for about four decades, has fulfilled this need of the hour in an admirable manner. Actually writing of book on Cotton Khadi could have been done under KVIC itself. But the fact that this book was initially sponsored by the premier financial institutions of the country, Industrial Development Bank of India and Small Industries Development Bank of India, has added significance. It is quite benefitting that the book in its enlarged and revised form is being published by Navajivan publishing house, an eminent institution publishing literature on Gandhiji, his ideology and programme.
